It would have been crazy to say just a few years ago. But today, Google produces better-designed software than any other tech behemoth. If you don’t believe that, then set down your Apple-flavored Kool-Aid. Take a cleansing breath, open your mind, and compare Android and iOS.

Thought provoking piece about Google getting design religion and the huge strides made with their Material Design visual identity. There are a lot of things I love about Material Design, namely the color palettes, animations and object layers which makes for a very cohesive user experience. But until Google can get the majority of their developers to take it seriously, then it typical Google – great ideas – not so great execution.

With that said, Apple needs to keep the innovation train stoked and take more bold moves with iOS9.
